About United Way of the Eagle River Valley

United Way of America is the national service and training center for local United Ways. United Way of America has no control over United Way of Eagle River Valley. We are run by our own local Board of Directors.

United Way of America provides to local United Way's: national promotions/NFL partnership advertising; name recognition, trademark and logo; research on national giving trends; volunteer and staff training; national database and network for exchange of information; and a unified voice in national government relations.

United Way of America is a professional trade association and does not raise or distribute funds. All moneys raised in Eagle County stay in Eagle County. We pay a small membership fee of less than two percent of the amount raised and in return United Way of Eagle River Valley receives services and marketing assistance that would cost thousands of dollars if we had to purchase them separately.

Financial World magazine, in its March 29, 1994, issue, selected United Way of America as the charity of choice for its leadership in nonprofit ethics and accountability.
